Jeff Stelling is an Iconic Sports TV Presenter and Journalist Who Has Been Named Sports Broadcaster of the Year by the Sports Journalists' Association for Several Years.
Jeff's broadcasting career first started in the late 1970s when he was a reporter for Middlesborough FC for Radio Tees. This was a great starting point for Jeff's career as he then went on to be a sports presenter London's LBC Radio and covered the Los Angeles and Seoul Olympics for BBC Radio 2 in the 1980s.
Jeff's career continued to go from strength to strength as he moved onto television broadcasting. He worked on TV-Am, Channel 4, British Satellite Broadcasting and Euro Sport before he took a job with Sky in 1992. Jeff covered the horse racing, darts and snooker before he was offered the presenting role in 1994 for Sports Saturday, which is now known as Gillette's Soccer Saturday.
As presenter of Gillette's Soccer Saturday, Jeff gives fantastic commentary on the matches on the day for six hours straight. It has been said that Jeff's hosting and presenting skills are one of the main reasons for the show's popularity.
