Well what a year 2010 was for Paul, things certainly changed, due to his memorable appearances on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got More Talent , finishing fifth out of tens of thousands of contestants, earning rave reviews from the programmes judges:
Amanda Holden: ’brilliant, bloody brilliant’
Piers Morgan: ‘the best impressionist we’ve ever seen on Britain’s got Talent’
Simon Cowell: ‘very funny and inventive’.
Since his success on BGT he’s never been so busy, including the BGT Arena tour including the Cardiff International Arena, Wembley Arena and finishing at The London 02 Arena, also, more TV work for the BBC and The 5 o’ Clock Show. Also to top a great year, Paul had his very own hour long TV special on ITV1 called ‘It’s Paul Burling’, getting nearly 4 million viewers, getting the highest viewers in it’s time slot. 2011 sees Paul building on his success more TV, including appearances on ‘Britain’s Got more Talent’ and a guest appearance on popular children’s CBBC programme ‘The Slammer’.
2012 saw Paul appearing on CBBC’s Dick and Doms ‘Hoopla’ and also asked by Harry Hill himself to be in Channel 4s’ ‘What ever happened to Harry Hill’.
Other TV work credits include appearing in top programmes like, Dr. Who, Torchwood and Casualty.
2013 saw Paul working with Harry Hill again, this time playing Matt Lucas’s and Harry Hills’ ‘Dad’ in the film ‘Harry Hill – The Movie’ the film also includes Julie Walters, Sheridan Smith and Simon Bird.
He does plenty of live shows, performing his live act for the corporate market and many other venues up and down the country and abroad.
2015 Paul appeared as a special guest on a 20 night UK theatre tour with Joe Pasquale.
2016 sees Paul touring with many of the names from BGT, X Factor and The Voice in a show called, ‘Talents of Britain’ coming to a theatre near you & also working with Craig Revel Horwood for the fourth year running, playing Smee in Peter Pan at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley.
Also, Paul enjoys his voiceover work, having used his talents on national and local radio stations including, BBC Radio Bristol, Kent, Devon and Wales, Pulse FM, Ocean FM and many more, he has also provided voices for companies including BBC TV, ITV, Haven holidays, Butlins, TED TALENT, Park Dene holidays and provided the voices for touring shows of Rainbow (Zippy & George) and Count Duckula for MNJ Productions.
One of Paul’s favourite aspects of the entertainment business is being part of pantomime, playing lead comic with many star names over the years, including, Craig Revel Horwood, Lisa Riley, Cheryl Fergison, Russell Grant, Anita Dobson, Gareth Gates, George Takai, Shaun Williamson, Phil ‘Mister Maker’ Gallagher and Emma Barton to name but a few!!!
