Bringing a combination of Lederhosen, traditional Oompah tunes and modern classics, The Bavarian Oompah Band is the most exciting and versatile group to emerge from the North West of England. As all good things are, the band was formulated over a few pints of beer in a pub in Manchester. Five friends all with an interest in the unusual side of music and, more importantly, beer, this seemed like the perfect way to get an excuse to visit as many beer festivals as possible!
The Bavarian Oompah Band is based on a traditional German Oompah band and consists of a clarinet, a trumpet, a trombone, a euphonium and a tuba. If required, a drummer can be provided to make the band in to a 6-piece. The members are all top quality full time professional musicians based in Manchester and have played with the Oompah Band all over the UK in venues both large and small.
The Bavarian Oompah Band can provide Bavarian Oompah background music when it is needed, but their speciality is taking centre stage and having audiences participating with dancing, drinking and singing in both English and German. This talented bunch is happy to arrange specific songs with a German Oompah twist for gigs to add that personal touch to the experience.
